Completed form must be submitted before, or, on the day of tryouts. 

-Health Physical – Provide a completed physical from a doctor who examined you. Completed

each year.

-Each year every student MUST have a current sports physical exam on file prior to tryout

or practice.

-Please use our MC PPE packet which includes our physical exam pages. The packet can be

found on www.mcraptors.com, under Compliance.

-All physicals and PPE packets must be reviewed and cleared by athletic trainers prior totryout/practice.

*-FYI: Montgomery College Rockville Campus offers FREE physical exams for any athlete onJuly 31st, 2024 (time to be determined). This is the ONLY date for free exams. No other dates will

be offered.

-You will need to have the completed medical forms at the time of the exam.

Health, Nutrition and Exercise 

-Your health is important- take care of your body and it will take care of you.

-Make an appointment to workout with the MC Strength and Conditioning Coach at least

once per week.

-Stretch before and after practice and routines. Maintain a workout routine at home.

-Maintain a healthy diet and always stay hydrated. Sleeping and resting is very important.

*-You must be enrolled in at least 1, 3 credit course. 

-Submit your class schedule each semester.

-Passing is very important. If you take a full load, maintain good time management. Failing is not anoption. Your grades are checked by the coaches monthly.

-If you need assistance, please speak to your professors and counselor. The resources are free.

-Study Hall and Tutoring are important, and available. Study Hall is mandatory for all athletes.

Practice and Game Day 

-Arrival time on game days is 1 hour prior to start of the first MC game. Arrive 30 minutes earlier ifyou need extra time to practice a routine.

-Be on time for practice: run 4 laps: 10 (minimum) pushups: 10 sit-ups.

-If you are more than 10 minutes late you will run an extra 2 laps and do 5 more pushups (noexceptions).

-3-strike rule - If you are more than 15 minutes late (games or practice) not showing up to practiceor games without prior notice, you will not perform at the next game.

-ALL cheer items (that you were issued and signed for) must stay at MC in your locker.

-Take the time to practice the cheers and dances at home, all are posted for you to review.

Communication is Important 

-Any changes to a cheer or dance will need to be approved by the coaches. 

-Any new information, cheer, or dance that you missed (due to illness an emergency or class) will only be made up or taught after practice or arrive 30 minutes prior to practice or games (with approval) so someone can plan to be available to arrive early and or leave late to assist. 

-If you are working during both the women and men’s basketball season October – March, please request to adjust your schedules accordingly. You will receive the practice and game schedules at least one month out. Practice will regularly be Tues & Thurs 5 – 8pm. 

-Please inform the coaches if you are available to cheer at the other home sporting events. 

-All cheerleaders will submit the game schedules to their professors, via email, and copy the coaches. We will assist you with the verbiage in the body of the email. 

Unacceptable / Zero Tolerance 

*Bad attitude, *Being disrespectful, *Negativity. 

*Failure to learn and remember the routines. 

*Not being a team player. 

*Not practicing safety procedures. 

*Not being prepared for practice and games. 

*Perks and Fun as a MC Cheerleader* 

-Letter to Professor if you are late or miss class due to a sporting event. 

-Leadership and Time Management Training. 

-MC cheer uniforms (shoes, sweats, duffel bag). 

-Your hair and make-up are designed by you. 

-Access to the team counselors. 

-Access to personal training on campus. 

-Team lockers for your cheer gear. 

-Making friends and having tons of fun
