Rockville, MD - The Raptors kicked off a new season, with a commanding 10-0 win vs the Carroll Community College Lynx. The team looks to win their 4th Region 20 Championship in a row, and game one showcased that they are ready for the long season.
The afternoon started with a special ceremony, as the President of Montgomery College, Dr. Jermaine Williams, hosted Mr. and Mrs. Alcus, who have created the first MC Athletics endowment. Their generous gift will support generations of Montgomery College student-athletes as they pursue their academic and athletic achievements. The soccer field will be named in their honor.
Moving to the action on the field – The Raptors dominated from the start, netting 7 goals in the first half, and tapped in another 3 in the second while completing a shutout. Multiple players contributed to the scoreboard, including #12 Nhlamulo Baloyi who finished the game with 3 goals and #3 Yoshuke Ono who finished with 2 goals and 1 assist.
