Cougars Fight Hard in Tight Matchup Against Montgomery College
Frederick Community College Cougars women's basketball showed toughness and determination in a tough 68-62 loss to Montgomery College Raptors on Monday night. Despite being out-rebounded 63-45 and facing challenges from Montgomery's aggressive defense, the Cougars mounted a thrilling fourth-quarter rally, scoring 21 points in the final frame.
Jasmine Hardy led the Cougars with 16 points and four rebounds, consistently attacking the basket. Makayla Wiley added 14 points, including four three-pointers, while Alaysia Jemmott posted a strong double-double with 13 points and 12 rebounds. Bre Lawyer orchestrated the offense with 10 points and a team-high seven assists, but turnovers and shooting struggles from beyond the arc (4-for-26) hampered the Cougars' efforts.
The team falls to 1-6 on the season but will look to regroup and bring their fighting spirit on the road against the Cecil College Seahawks on December 11 at 5 PM.
