Raptors Fall To Bobcats

On Monday, January 13th, the Montgomery College Raptors traveled to Virginia Beach to take on the Bryant & Stratton Bobcats in an out of conference matchup. Although they put up a good fight, a second quarter run by the Bobcats put the Raptors away, with a final score of 87-63.

 

The first quarter was tightly contested. The Raptors did a great job breaking the Bobcat press and getting easy looks around the rim. However, the Bobcats moved the ball well and were also able to get good looks, going into the second quarter up 16-12. In the second quarter, the Raptors' composure crumbled. The same easy looks from the first quarter turned into constant turnovers against the same Bobcat press. The Raptors were outscored 30-12 in the second quarter, and went into the locker room down 46-24. Even though they were down big, the Raptors never stopped fighting. They regained their composure, and through the final two quarters were only outscored by 2 points (41-39). However, they could never go on a true run to regain the lead and lost 87-63. This loss drops the Raptors to 10-7 on the season.
