Game Summary
The evening began with a celebration of the eight sophomores on this year's MC team. Each student-athlete was recognized and presented with a framed photo as they walked onto the pitch accompanied by family and friends. Once the game started, the Raptors pushed the ball up field quickly and forced the Hawks defense into their goalie box on several occasions. The Hawks goalkeeper was forced to make two outstanding saves to keep the game scoreless. The game slowed down after a few minutes with possessions staying at midfield, but in the 11th minute, #10 Stefanie Barrios scored to put the Raptors up 1-0. The Raptors returned in the 33rd minute to score their second goal when #7 Kendra Wotchuin provided a beautiful over the top assist to #10 Stefanie Barrios . The Raptors controlled dominated possession in the second half with continued close shots on goal. The Hawks were able to put a goal on the scorebox with a top bar goal from distance, but the Raptors held on. With three minutes left in the match, head coach Licia Holsendorff substituted all sophomores into the game to finish off the regular season careers at Montgomery College.
