Raptors take down Skipjacks

Rockville, MD – A tough conference matchup between the Raptors and Skipjacks remained competitive throughout the night. In the end, the Raptors proved to be too much for the Skipjacks and picked up an important win. The Raptors currently sit with a 15-6 overall record, and 7-1 conference record. 

The first half provided high scoring from the Raptors, who finished the first quarter with a game leading 22 points. However, Chesapeake came storming back in the second quarter, beating the Raptors in scoring, 21-17. The teams went into halftime with MC holding onto a narrow 39-37 lead. The second half continued to see both teams matching each other's intensity and scoring. The last two minutes of the fourth quarter saw the Raptors finally put enough of a gap on the scoreboard to win the game. 

#10 Isabela Lujan-Gonzales, led the team in scoring with 22 points, while also picking up 7 assists and 6 steals. #2 Kourtney Johnson, and #12 Talia Kouncar finished with 16 points each. #30 Olivia Wright, provided a huge boost off the bench with 7 points and 4 rebounds. 

Another important conference game awaits the Raptors, as they travel to Frederick Community College on Saturday, February 10th to take on the Cougars.
