Montgomery College Women's Soccer Returns Home On Thursday to Host Frederick

The Montgomery College women's soccer team will return home on Thursday, September 21st, to host a conference foe Frederick Community College at 4:30 pm. The Raptors currently have a 4-3 overall record and a 2-1 record in the conference. Thursday's match is the first of three in a row as they will host Richard Bland on 9/26 (4:30 pm) and Washington Adventist on 9/28 (3:30 pm).

Montgomery College went 2-2 on their road trip, dropping games to #9 Monroe Community College (9-0) and CCBC Essex (5-1). The Raptors won against Howard Community College (3-2) and College of Southern Maryland (6-2) in conference action.

How It Happened:
The Tribunes of Monroe Community College took advantage early in the match, pressuring the midfield and backline of the Raptors to score five first-half half-goals. MCC put another four in the second half to make the final score 9-0.

The Raptors then headed to Howard Community College to play their first conference game of the season. Natalie Zambrano (Watson), Isabelle Watson (Natalie Zambrano), and Ayla Khorsand (Isabelle Watson) scored the goals for Montgomery. Natalie Fleitas made two saves in goal for Montgomery College.

Montgomery College played an evenly matched contest vs. CCBC Essex, but the Knights took advantage of their opportunities, placing five in the back of the net on the day. Sabrina DiMarzio's shot bounced off the crossbar, and Ayla Khorsand calmly put it in the back of the net to make the game 1-1. CCBC Essex notched one more goal at the end of the first half and put in four more in the second half to seal the victory.

Montgomery College bounced back against College of Southern Maryland with a 6-2 victory. Natalia Sartor (Bahloul) scored her first collegiate goal to tie the game up 1-1. Sabrina Di Marzio scored the second goal, and Juliana Franco finished a well-placed pass from Ayla Khorsand to end the half at 3-1. Isabelle Watson (Berrios) scored the fourth goal for the Raptors, while Franco (Zambrana) scored her second of the match, and Nicole Zambrana finished the scoring with her first collegiate goal. Fleitas and Soussi-Tanani split time as goalkeepers for the Raptors.
