Raptors Women's Soccer Falls to Harcum College 5-3.

On Friday, September 17, the Montgomery College Raptors women's soccer team fell to the Harcum College Bears at home 5-3.

Fireworks began early, with four goals scored in the first fifteen minutes. The Harcum Bears struck first in the fifth minute of action. However, the Raptors replied immediately, earning a penalty kick in the sixth minute. Nathalie Mejia coolly finished from the spot to even the score.

Six minutes later, Keyla Velasquez would find Luisa Navas-Gonzalez with a nice pass through the Bear's defense and score to give the Raptors a 2-1 lead. It was then Harcum's turn to respond with a goal in the 14th minute and tie the game at 2-2.

Just like it began, the first half ended with more drama. The Bears found two goals in the 41st and 44th minutes, to take a commanding 4-2 lead. A 45th minute red card to Harcum Goalkeeper Ashley Harper meant the Bears would play the second half down a player and opened the door to a Raptors comeback.

In the second half, the Raptors were unable to take advantage of the extra player and saw their fate sealed with a 68th minute goal by Harcum that set the lead to 5-2. An 89th minute consolation goal for Luisa Navas-Gonzales tightened the score. Soon after the ref blew the final whistle and the Raptors walked away with their second loss of the season.

The Raptors fall to 1-2 overall.
