Offense Stalls In Losses To Potomac State

ROCKVILLE, Md. – The Montgomery College softball program put just eight hits on the board but almost knocked off the Catamounts in game two, dropping the first matchup 11-0 and the second by a 4-3 margin. The opener was an all-around struggle for the Raptors, notching a trio of singles courtesy of Alexandra Iacino, Kyndall Hopkins, and Morgan Lynn while Keyri Villatoro drew the only walk of the front half. Hopkins took to the circle in the second contest and put forth a performance worthy of a victory, yielding one earned run (four total) over seven complete innings, punching out five hitters to go along with a sacrifice fly at the plate. Villatoro scored two of the club's three runs after reaching on a single plus another free pass and Iacino went 2-of-3 with a ribbie. Other contributors in the nightcap included Alyssa Anderson with a RBI-single, a walk, and a run scored, Morgan Lynn's base knock, and Lesa Mouzon's base on balls.

MC ends the regular season on the road with back-to-back doubleheaders Thursday and Friday at Christendom then Garrett College.
