MC TRACK TRAVELS TO VA FOR LIBERTY U. MEET
The Raptors made the long trip to Lynchburg, Virginia, this past week to compete in the Liberty Twilight Qualifier. This meet showcases a mix of D1, D2, and unattached athletes from the central to western parts of Virginia.
The meet day presented some tricky, windy conditions for jumping and sprinting, but overall, a great experience for the team.
Kendall Wideman (FR) kicked off the meet in the Long Jump. Although he did not improve on his seasonal best marks, the takeaway from this experience is for him to be patient and performances with get better in due time.
Promise Whitmore (FR) ran her best, considering she did not feel fully rested from the previous competition at the Maryland Kehoe Twilight Track & Field meet last week. She ran close to her best times, but did not improve from her personal best times. She enjoyed the experience competing and looks forward to improving her performance.
Chisenga Mwape (FR) ran like a man on a mission. He ran a personal best in both the 400 meters (55.31) and 200 meters. He won his heat in the 200 meters (24.14), which gave him the confidence to continue running fast. Coach Nelson is proud of all three of the student-athletes.
