Raptors Compete at Towson University Invitational

Raptors Compete at Towson University Invitational

In March, the weather can be tricky to gauge and overcome, especially in the mid-Atlantic region. The gusty winds played havoc on all the runners the entire day. This track meet marked the first time the young freshmen competed with local colleges and a variety of D1, D2, and D3 programs.  The Raptors had a tough time with the long track meet but remained focused on doing their best given the weather conditions.

Xavier Tran (Freshman) waited nearly 5 hours before he stepped on the track to compete in the Men's 200 meters. Running out of lane 8 with no one in front, he ran the turn, saying to the other competitors "Catch me if you can." His competitive 200-meter run placed him 13th out of 59 athletes. With his family and friends watching he wanted to show his progress thus far. He is looking forward to getting better and competing against other D1, D2, and D3 programs.
