Raptors Volleyball Split the Tri-Match in Rochelle, NY

The Montgomery College women's volleyball team split two Saturday matches in Rochelle, NY, at the Monroe College tri-match. The Raptors defeated Nassau Community College Lions in three sets, 3-0 (25-10, 25-16, 25-10) to begin the evening before they got swept by the host Monroe College Mustangs, 3-0 (10-25, 10-25, 17-25).

Sophomore setter Kira Ng passed out 15 assists in the opening match against the Lions. Freshman Helen Federline led the way with eight kills, followed by freshman ZaKya Mann with five kills. Sophomore Simay Aybak had 11 digs, followed up by Kira Ng and Sydney Babb that each had seven digs.

Federline and Babb led the way with three kills in the Mustang match while Ng passed out nine assists and Aybak made 20 digs for the Raptors (2-4).

Montgomery is back on Tuesday, September 21st at Anne Arundel CC at 6:00 PM, and the Raptors' next home game will be Thursday, September 23rd at 7:00 PM against Potomac State College of WVA at the Rockville Campus.
