Undefeated Raptors Claim First MDJUCO Volleyball Title

A balanced team effort helped Montgomery College Raptors volleyball sweep Cecil College (25-16, 25-19, 25-14) on Tuesday afternoon at home and the Raptors picked up the 25th win on the season against the Garrett College Lakers (25-22, 25-11, 25-8) win the 2018 MDJUCO Title. The title of Maryland JUCO Conference Champions is the first in Montgomery College Volleyball's history as the Raptors are still currently ranked 19th in the country according to the most recent NJCAA DII Volleyball poll.  

Anna Chepurnova finished with 19 kills and recorded a staggering .586 hitting percentage while Isabel Nelligan had nine kills and Keyshiana Fennicks and Chanel Sanford each added four kills in the match against the Lakers. Talyah Huss set 27 assists, and Nelligan led the game with 23 digs in the Raptors 10th conference victory!  

Now 25-0 and one game left in the regular season, the Raptors still lead the nation with a .365 hitting percentage as a team. The Raptors will take on Washington Adventist University at 7 pm Tuesday, October 23rd at the Rockville Campus.
