Volleyball Team Starts Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign; Dig Pink Game Scheduled for Oct. 5

The MC Raptors volleyball team has an overall record of 5-4 and is tied for fifth in the MDJUCO Conference with a record of 3-2. Erica Morton is second in the MDJUCO in kills per set with 3.59 and Kalin Colbert is third with 3.41. Morton Leads the conference in hitting percentage with .383 and Colbert is following up in fourth with .299. Christiana Wilhelm-Glab leads the conference in service aces per set with 1.00 and is in second assists per set with eight.  

On Thursday, September 7, MC shut out conference opponent Chesapeake in three straight sets 26-6, 25-10, 27-25. Wilhelm-Glab, a sophomore, recorded a game-high 23 assists, and Morton had a game-high 12 kills and 15.5 points in the conference victory.  

On September 15 the Raptors lost a tough match on the road to Hagerstown Community College 3-1 winning only the second set but couldn't alter the momentum of the match.  

The Raptors were able to bounce back with a sweeping victory over Garrett College in straight sets 25-15, 25-10, 25-14. Wilhelm-Glab recorded another +20 plus assist game and teammates Colbert and Stella Perez each added eight kills in the victory.  

The Raptors won their fifth game of the season, and their third MDJUCO win on the road against Allegany College of Maryland on September 22, 3-0.

The Raptors are hosting their annual Dig Pink game on October 5th at 6:00 p.m. against Anne Arundel Community College and the team is excited to be part of The Side-Out Foundation and its Dig Pink initiative.
