MC Women's Soccer Scored Five Unanswered Goals to Defeat Lackawanna CC 5-2

Montgomery allowed two goals in the first half to trail Lackawanna CC going into halftime2-0. MC freshman Sophie Couturier scored two unassisted goals in the early part of the second half to tie the game 2-2. In the 71st minute, Elise Couturier located her sister with a beautifully played ball, and Sophie tallied her third goal of the day. Elise Couturier would also assist on an Ashley Zambrano goal in the 85th minute, and Elise would be awarded a PK in the 87th minute to cap off the scoring in a 5-2 comeback victory.

The Montgomery's regular season came to an end Wednesday afternoon after a 9-1 loss at Howard Community College. With this loss, MC finished the regular season with a 7-7-1 record, which includes a 4-2-1 record in MD JuCo action for a share of third place in the standings. The Raptors will enter the NJCAA DI Region XX Women's Soccer Tournament the #3 seed, and they will play #4 Frederick CC on Tuesday, October 29th at 6:30 pm at Harford CC in Bel Air, MD.
