Raptors' Head Coach Pedro Braz Secures 99th Career Victory

Columbia, MD - On a sunny afternoon, Howard Community College featured a clash between the Montgomery College Raptors and the Howard Community College Dragons. However, the primary highlight of this exhilarating encounter wasn't just the thrilling 5-2 victory by the Raptors; it was the remarkable milestone achieved by their Head Coach, Pedro Braz, who secured his 99th career win at the helm of the Raptors.

Right from the outset, the Raptors, led by Coach Braz, demonstrated their prowess on the field. Freshman Striker Carlo Romberg set the tone for the match, netting an early goal in the third minute from a penalty kick, and shortly afterward, in the 8th minute, Romberg, with an assist from Nathan Booth, notched his second goal of the game. By halftime, the Raptors held a comfortable 2-0 lead.

The second half brought about a resurgence from Howard Community College as they managed to pull one back in the 60th minute, making it 2-1. But the Raptors, swiftly reestablished their dominance. In the 70th minute, Carlo Romberg completed a spectacular hat-trick, thanks to an assist from Yosuke Ono, restoring a two-goal advantage.

The Dragons didn't give up easily. In the 77th minute, they managed to find the net once again, reducing the deficit to 3-2 and setting the stage for an intense finale. However, the Raptors, responded with composure and unity.

In the 87th minute, freshman striker Addis Tafese, scored with an assist from Nathan Booth, strengthening the Raptors' lead to 4-2. The climax came in the 89th minute when Romberg completed his fourth goal of the match, showcasing exceptional individual performance.

With a final score of 5-2, the Montgomery College Raptors not only showcased their scoring prowess but also celebrated the remarkable achievement of their Head Coach. Pedro Braz, a symbol of leadership and dedication, secured his 99th career victory as the head coach of the Raptors. The game highlighted not only the talent on the field but also the impact of a coach who has reached the cusp of a century of career victories.
