Braz Reaches 98 Wins Versus Rival PG CC

Rockville, MD - The Montgomery College Raptors hosted the Prince George's Community College team in an MDJUCO clash on September 5, 2023. The Raptors left fans awestruck as they secured a resounding 8-0 victory over their opponents.

Now in his seventh season as Raptor's head coach, Pedro Braz is closing in on 100 victories. The win over Prince George's was Braz's 98 career win, putting him one step closer to the century mark. Reflecting on the game, Braz said "The guys came out from the opening whistle and took control of the game. There is a lot of work left to do to get where we need to be, but today was a good step in that direction."

From the first whistle, it was clear that the Raptors were on a mission. The first half belonged entirely to Montgomery College, with a commanding 5-0 lead at the break. Carlo Romberg led the attack, securing a first half hat trick. Joining him in the spotlight were Daniel Minhas and Oliver Skinner, who each found the back of the net.

The second half saw no respite for the Owls, as the Raptors continued their relentless assault on goal. Oliver Skinner struck again, solidifying his presence on the score sheet. Paolo Perez then stepped up with a brace of his own, bringing the Raptors' total to eight unanswered goals.

In a game where offense shone brightly, it's essential not to overlook the defensive prowess that secured Thomas Mauro the shutout.
