Raptors Secure Win Against Southern Maryland

Rockville The Montgomery College Raptor's men's soccer team improved their record to 7-1 (5-0 in conference) with a 7-0 win over the College of Southern Maryland.

The Raptors got on the board early, with a spectacular goal from sophomore Andres Javitt. Javitt hit a bicycle kick off the cross from sophomore Hurrich Engoue. The ball deflected off a Southern Maryland player before landing in the back of the net. The goal gave the raptors the lead just four minutes into the game. Two minutes later, Engoue would score one of his own. Freshman Caio Braga collected the ball in the box and unselfishly found a free Engoue on the far post for the easy tap in and the two goal lead. Sophomore striker Abdoul Anounkou would add a third in the 20th minute off an assist from Javitt for a 3-0 heading into half time.

In the second half, Anounkou collected his brace, again assisted by Javitt in the 59th minute. Diego Ramirez and Ishwarpreet Singh scored in the 59th and 64th minutes, both assisted by freshman Sota Matsuo. Matsou capped the night off with a goal in the 90th minute, assisted by Javitt, for the 7-0 win.
