The Raptors Men's Soccer Team Blanked Allegany College of MD 11-0 in Home Opener

Montgomery College men's soccer home opener was a dominating, 11-0 victory over Allegany College of MD trojans on Thursday night at the Soccer Stadium.

Andres Javitt had three goals and an assist, Diego Ramirez had two goals, Luis Aquino had two goals and an assist, Hurrich Engoue had a goal and two assists, Khalb Mesfin scored a goal and an assist, and Deric Pocasangre and Wilmer Escobar Jr each added a goal. 

Marvin Cheguen Mendez played 54 minutes in goal and got his second win on the season. Thomas Donnellan played the final 36 minutes. Escobar got the Raptors on the board in the 1st minute of the game, and five minutes later, Javitt scored.  The Raptors scored four goals in the first 22 minutes and scored five goals in the second half of the game. 

On Saturday, the Raptors faced an out-of-state opponent in the Monroe College Mustangs and gave up five unanswered goals. The Raptors played the Mustangs tough throughout the first half and went into the break 0-0. Something changed for one of the teams at halftime. The Mustangs scored in the first two minutes of the second half. Marvin Cheguen Mendez made four saves and allowed for games in 68 minutes of play, and Thomas Donnellan finished the final 22 minutes making five saves and allowing one goal.

The Raptors will go on the road to play the Carroll County Lynx on Thursday, September 9th, and MC will return home on Tuesday, September 14th at 7:00 pm against Hagerstown CC!
