Raptors Men's Soccer Improve to 3-0 with 11-0 Victory over Hagerstown CC

Building on their strong start, Montgomery College men's soccer team blanked the Hagerstown Community College Hawks 11-0 on Monday, April 26. Playing their first game on the road, the undefeated Raptors improved to 3-0.

The Raptors continued to be led by striker Joseph Kitengie, who netted seven, including a close-range volley in the first half. Kitengie's haul brings his season goal total to 14 in the young season.

Freshman playmaker Luis Aquino also began to round into form, collecting three goals and an assist, with his first strike a long-range effort finding the far post. Winger Abraham Israel also found the net with a strike in the 51st minute.

The team shows signs of understanding the defensive team shape being implemented by Coach Pedro Braz, allowing only five shots from Hagerstown, and allowing Marvin Mendez to collect his second shutout of the season.

The Raptors have outscored their opponents 24-1 and look to carry that momentum into the second half of the season. The Raptors face a test this weekend against rival Howard County College. Howard and Montgomery College are currently tied on 9 points in the conference. The winner of the match-up will be well-positioned to challenge current leaders CCBC Essex and CCBC Catonsville for the regular season conference title.

The MC Raptors vs Howard Community College Dragons will kick off at 3:00 PM on Saturday, May 1. While fans are not currently allowed to attend games due to COVID restrictions, all Raptors' home games will be streamed live on MC Raptor's YouTube channel.
