Raptors Men's Basketball Starts Season 2-0; Jennings Recorded First Career Triple-Double in Sunday Matinee

Raptors men's basketball started their new 2019-2020 season with two victories on the road as they participated in Sullivan's Season Tip-Off Tournament in Loch Sheldrake, NY. Sophomore guard Isaiah Jennings recorded his first career triple-double in the victory against Essex County College, and classmate Nicholas Johnson had a 29-point performance against Raritan Valley CC.

On Saturday, Montgomery College defeated Raritan Valley Community College 90-64. Offensively, Nicholas Johnson led the way for the Raptors with 29 points and nine rebounds while Agyei Edwards dropped 20 points with six assists, and Jennings added 18. Marlon Pratt came off the bench to contribute five points, five assists and five rebounds in the team's first victory.

On the second day of the Sullivan Tip-off, the Raptors beat Essex County College 96-77. Isaiah Jennings led all scorers with 23 points to go with 15 rebounds and ten assists. Agyei Edwards followed with 20 points while Nicholas Johnson came off the bench to contribute 12 points, six rebounds, three assists, and two blocks. Camren Ashby added 11 points, six assists, and three steals, and Hank Roll added 11 points in the team's 19-point victory.

The Raptors first home game will be Thursday, November, 14th against Rowan College at Burlington County at 7:30 pm. The Raptors will hold their annual Montgomery College Tip-off Classic November 15th and 16th, where the raptors will play Cape Fear CC on Saturday at 5 pm and Mercyhurst North East at 3 pm on Sunday.
