Men's Basketball Starts January with Three Wins as Conference Contests Approach

The Raptors men's basketball team picked up wins over Hagerstown, CCBC Catonsville and College of Southern MD to start the second half of their season. On January 5th, the MC Raptors held on to down Hagerstown CC 73-68 in the first game of 2019. Vince Rose dropped 17 of his 28 points in the second half while Paul Garcia finished with 13 points and Charlie Ali netted 11 points to go along with 9 boards. Jonathan Kamana recorded 11 rebounds and 4 blocks and Freddie Harris grabbed 10 rebounds as Rose and Ali each pulled down 9 rebounds in the 5-point conference win.

Charlie Ali had himself a game on January 12th with 17 points, 17 rebounds and 10 assists in the Raptors 92-67 victory over CCBC Catonsville. Vince Rose had a game-high 25 points while Paul Garcia netted 20 points, Freddie Harris had a dozen points and Kamana recorded 13 points and 11 rebounds.

The Raptors won their most recent contest defeating College of Southern Maryland Hawks 81-75 on Saturday, January 16. Rose led way for his team with 24 points while Garcia added 18 points and Kamana finished with 11 points, 21 boards, and 5 blocks.

The Raptors improved their overall record to 13-4 and 6-3 in the Maryland Juco Conference. The Raptors next three contests are away starting at Prince George's Community College on Wednesday, January 23rd at 7:00 pm, at Baltimore City on Saturday, January 26th at 3:00 pm, and at Potomac State College of WVU on Monday, January 28th at 7:00 pm. The Raptors return home on Saturday, February 2nd to host Cecil College at 3:30 pm.
