Raptors baseball sweeps Marymount University (JV)
ROCKVILLE, Md. – The Montgomery College baseball program ran its win streak to seven straight on Friday afternoon, taking both contests from Marymount University’s junior varsity squad by scores of 5-2 and 11-3, both in seven.
Kevin Espiritusanto was a beast, hitting .750 (3-for-4) with four RBIs, two runs scored, a triple, and a long ball, needing just a double in game two to complete the cycle but could not come up with it.
Eriel Regalado improved to 3-1 after his complete game win in game one, going the distance (7.0 IP) while allowing just two runs and striking out five Saints.
Maverick Durant also had a very productive second outing, with two singles that drove home three Raptors while he himself scored once.
Cameron Goodling had double-double vision, hitting a pair of two-baggers in the opener, and coming in to score on one of them.
John McIntyre and Alex Rodriguez combined to hold MU’s JV to a single earned run (three total) and four hits plus nine whiffs between them, eight coming off the arm of A-Rod.
Jackson Thomas had just one base knock but it left the ballpark, jacking a two-run bomb.
