Montgomery Bests Cecil Late

NORTH EAST, Md. - The Cecil Seahawks put a scare into the Montgomery Raptors, but eventually fell 8-3 Tuesday afternoon.

Cecil took the lead 90 seconds into the contest on an Akeil John strike. The Seahawks defense would thwart several waves of offense by the Raptors, but eventually Montgomery scored in the 16th to tie the game. Cecil had an answer 10 minutes later, as Nathan Ramsden tucked the ball into the back of the net on a Leon Njoroge pass to turn the advantage back over to the Seahawks. Cecil carried the lead into the half, its first time doing so this season.

Montgomery scored twice quickly out of the break, but John scored his second of the contest to move the score to 3-3 in the 53rd minute. From their it was all Raptors, as they scored five goals over the remainder of the second half to walk away victorious.

Cecil drops to 1-9 (1-9 Region 20) on the season.
