On Tuesday, Carroll started their men's soccer season at home against Montgomery, losing a close contest 0-1.

The game marks the start of the Lynx fifth season and the beginning of Joe Pratt's tenure at Head Coach. The team impressed in their first game, nearly shutting out a Division I opponent who went to the national tournament last season. Just one year ago against Montgomery, Carroll lost 0-10, showing massive improvement in just one year.

Goalkeeper Eymeris Acevedo kept the Lynx in the game for a full 90, saving a whopping eleven shots. The defense also pitched in to save a few shots, including captain Nathan Burndley who headed what would have been a goal out of bounds late in the second half. Carroll lost the game with 27 seconds to go off a header by Brian Noutchang.

Overall, the game was a step forward for Carroll despite the loss. With the defense looking as solid as it does, the team will not need to improve much to be competitive with some of the top teams in Region 20. Look for the Lynx to make some real waves in the NJCAA this season.

Our next game will be at home on Saturday, August 26th against Ocean County. It will be livestreamed to our YouTube channel which can be found here.
