Women's Basketball Falls to Montgomery

ROCKVILLE, Md. – The Anne Arundel Community College women's basketball team dropped a NJCAA Region 20 divisional game at Montgomery Saturday afternoon, falling to the Raptors, 80-48.

Three Riverhawks scored in double figures in the game, led by a 15-point, 16-rebound double-double from Ayannah Gorham. SeRi Miles added 14 points, while Leila Townsend scored 11. Both Miles and Townsend pulled down four rebounds. Holly Wall continued to demonstrate her defensive aptitude with 11 rebounds.

Montgomery led, 22-9, after the first quarter, and held a 35-20 lead by halftime. AACC scored 29 second-half points, but could not match Montgomery.

The Riverhawks outrebounded their hosts, 45-42, collecting 29 boards off the defensive glass, paced by 13 grabs from Gorham.

AACC is back in action on Wednesday, January 24, in a 5:30 p.m. game at Division I Harford.
