Raptors Volleyball Season Ends in the Region XX Semifinal Game Against Howard CC

The 2017 season came to an end for the Montgomery College volleyball team, as the Raptors fell to Howard Community College Dragons in the semifinals of the Region XX tournament Saturday.

The Raptors took one out of four sets on Saturday winning the third game to force the fourth set where Howard pulled away to win the final match 20-25.

The last few sets were close, but Howard CC was able to capitalize late in the sets to defeat the Raptors 14-25, 21-25, 25-16 and 20-25. 

The Raptors finish the season 8-14 overall and 4-7 in the MDJUCO with big wins over Garrett, Chesapeake, and Washington Adventist University.

Sophomore Ruby Barreto was named to the Region XX All-Tournament Team for the second year in a row and freshman teammate Kalin Colbert was also named to the Region XX All-Tournament Team for the Raptors.
