Raptors Women’s Soccer Down Top Ranked Howard and Boast Seven-Game Win Streak
On Thursday October 4th the Raptors women's soccer team showed that they were the better team in a 4-2 victory over the Howard CC Dragons. Ariella Amaguana and Makenzee Hook both netted first half goals and Elise Couturier and Gabriela Fernandez each added goals in the second to hold off their neighboring rivals and hand the Dragons their first conference defeat of the season.
The Raptors' leading scorer Ariella Amaguana had a four-goal performance on October 2nd in route to a 11-1 victory over Cecil College. Sophomores Viviana Rodriguez and Gabriela Fernandez had a multi-goal performance as Rodriguez recorded her second hat-trick of the season and Fernandez added a pair of goals in the conference win over Cecil College.
Amaguana helped to extend the win streak on September 30th as she had a two-goal performance that included a game-tying goal that sent the match to overtime against Mercer County CC. The Raptors came out on top as Makenzee Hook scored seconds into the OT frame assisted by Amaguana to come from behind to win 4-3.
The Raptors host their final home game on October 12th against Hagerstown CC at 2pm, and due to weather and field condition cancellations we had to reschedule a lot of games in a tight time frame and the team finishes up the regular season with four road games in seven days.
