Raptors Women’s Soccer Drop Their Season Opener 2-1 to Rowan College at Gloucester County

The Montgomery College Raptors soccer program has officially opened their 2018-19 season this past Saturday, August 27, hosting Rowan College at Gloucester County. The NJCAA DIII Region XIX Roadrunners traveled from Sewell, NJ to face the Raptors in a competitive match that ended with Rowan College at GC defeating Montgomery 2-1.

Raptors freshman Alexa Escobar, recorded her first goal of the season that came from sophomore returner Ariella Amaguana in the 25th minute to give Montgomery a 1-0 lead. Right before halftime, the Roadrunners found the back of the net to even up the match going into halftime. The Raptors were on the receiving end of an unlucky bounce when a Rowan cross deflected off an MC into the goal giving the Roadrunners the lead and eventually the win.
