Raptors Women’s Soccer Ends Season Winning Two Out of the Last Three

The Raptors women's soccer team ended the season with two big wins over Potomac State College 6-0 and Anne Arundel CC 3-2. On October 10th MC went on the road to West Virginia and put up six straights goals on Potomac State as freshman goalkeeper Delmy Perez recorded her second shutout of the season. Gabriella Fernandez led the way in scoring for Montgomery as she recorded her first hat trick of the season with goals coming in the 2nd minute, 42nd minute, and 65th minute of the game. Viviana Rodriguez (19') contributed a goal and three assists in the match as teammates Gaelin Hirabayashi (48') and Yasurys Peralta (84') each added a goal of their own in the 6-0 shutout victory over Potomac state.

On Friday, October 13th the Raptors honored the teams only second-year player, Gaelin Hirabayashi, on Sophomore Day and sent her off with a victory in her last home game as a Raptor. Nicole Godoy scored the game-winning goal late in the second half give her Raptors the hard fought 3-2 win over Anne Arundel CC. Rodriguez capitalize on an AACC mistake, and Fernandez found the back of the net to give MC a 2-0 lead going into halftime, but the Riverhawks clawed their way back with two goals of their own to level the match. Montgomery College will compete in postseason play starting Friday, October 27th at Anne Arundel CC in the NJCAA DIII Region XX Tournament. The tournament seeds and schedule are TBA and will be announced via @MC_Raptors social media and www.MCRaptors.com.
