Women’s Basketball Moves Up to No. 2 in the NJCAA Entering Post-Season Play

The No. 2 nationally ranked Montgomery College women's basketball team wrapped up their final game of the 2017-18 regular season with a win at Chesapeake College 70-66. With the win, the Raptors will head into the MDJUCO Tournament as the #3 seed where they will face Chesapeake College on Thursday, February 15th at 12:00 p.m. at Prince George's Community College.

On February 7th, Alandra Bandy netted a team-high 20 points in the Raptors four-point victory against Chesapeake while Anu Bamijoko shot 50% from the field and recorded 11 points and ten rebounds. Armonie Lomax tallied 10 points, six rebounds, a pair of steals and a pair of assists as teammate Lauren Nelson recorded her first career double-double with 10 points and ten rebounds in the Raptors final regular season win.

The Maryland Junior College Athletic Conference (Maryland JUCO) announced seeding and game times for its 2018 Women's Conference Basketball Tournaments, hosted by Prince George's Community College, February 15-18. The MC Raptors women's basketball team will play Chesapeake College in the quarterfinal game on Thursday, February 15th at 12:00 p.m. and tickets are $8.00. The women's tournament games will be played on February 15 and 17, with the championship game on Sunday, February 18 at noon.

February 23-25, the Raptors will compete in the NJCAA DIII Region XX Tournament hosted by Westmoreland College (PA).
