Nationally-Ranked Raptors Women's Basketball Coasts to Two Victories

The Montgomery College women's basketball team won their last two games by an average of 35 points. On Friday, January 12th the Raptors traveled to Baltimore to defeat CCBC Catonsville by 42 points and hosted Westmoreland County Community College on Martin Luther King Day and won 93-65. 

Montgomery freshman Saraphina Pierre-Louis had a game-high 16 points and 10 rebounds coming off the bench in the game against CCBC Catonsville while teammates Sarah Olsen and Lauren Nelson each scored 12 points in the victory. 

On January 15th the Raptors defeated the Westmoreland CCC Wolfpack 93-65 with Lauren Nelson scoring 22 of her 27 points in the second half shooting 66% from deep. Armonie Lomax contributed 19 points, four assists and three steals for MC while teammates Sarah Olsen and Saraphina Pierre-Louis each added 14 points. Anu Bamijoko had a terrific stat line that was one steal short of a triple-double recording 10 points, 13 rebounds and nine steals in the Raptors 14th win of the season. 

The Raptors are currently sitting in the #2 spot in the MDJUCO with a record of 5-1 and #4 in the country with a record of 14-4. The Raptors' next game is at Rockville on Saturday, January 20th at 1:30 p.m. against Butler County Community College (PA).
