Raptors Women's Basketball Rides Five Game Winning Streak Through Thanksgiving Break.

The MC women's basketball team is 6-2, 2-0 in the MDJUCO, and on a five-game winning streak as Head Coach Tarlouh Gasque and her Raptors prepare for their final game in November against Potomac State College of WVU on Wednesday, November 29th at 5:30 p.m. at Rockville.

After sweeping their competition at the MC Tipoff Tournament, the Raptors continued on their tear with a victory at home against Frederick (3-1) CC 88-71, and two wins on the road at Pennsylvania Highlands Community College (0-2) 118-48 and against previously undefeated Cecil College (6-0) 89-82.

The Raptors' sophomore Anu Bamijoko recorded her eighth career double-double game with 19 points and ten rebounds while freshman teammate Sarah Olsen recorded her first career double-double with 11 points and ten rebounds. Sophomore Caleema Johnson added 15 points, and Armonie Lomax scored 20 points coming off the bench as Montgomery held Frederick to only 20 first-half points to pull out a 17-point victory.

In the game at Penn Highlands, everyone that suited up for the Raptors scored and five of those players scored in double figures while Daija Gallion almost made it six as she finished with 9 points and ten rebounds coming off the bench. Kenydi Cross and Caleema Johnson each lead the way in scoring for MC with 18 points.

On Tuesday before Thanksgiving break, Montgomery got out to an early 26-8 lead after the first quarter and never gave the lead up in their MDJUCO match up against Cecil College.
