Addison Scores 41, MC Women's Basketball Team Wins 2016-17 Region XX Title Over PGCC

The women's basketball team outscored their opponents by 79 in route to claiming the 2017 NJCAA DIII Region XX Championship! 

On Sunday, the Raptors defeated their neighboring county rivals Prince George's CC Owls 108-79 the Region XX Final. Addison dropped 41 points shooting 100% from the free throw line making 20 for 20 while also pulling down 14 rebounds. Lomax adds 31 points and 11 rebounds while Johnson had 10 points, 10 rebounds and 6 steals. Bamijoko pulled down 17 rebounds to help the Raptors 73-56. 

On Saturday February 26th the MC Raptors dominated Westmoreland College in the semi-finals 106-56. MC's big three consisting of Armonie Lomax, Caleema Johnson, and Sheri Addison combined for 75 points with Johnson leading way with 34 points and 16 rebounds! Lomax added 26 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists while Anu Bamijoko score 10 points and pulled down 13 boards. Addison and Alandra Bandy both contribute 15 points with Bandy coming off the bench. The Raptors stole the ball 33 times and outrebounded their opponent 61-44.

Sherri Addison was selected the Tournament MVP and Armonie Lomax was named to the All Region XX Tournament Team. 

The Raptors women's team will travel to Oxford, GA to Oxford Emory to play NJCAA DIII District 7 Championship on March 4th against West Georgia Tech.
