Raptors nearly pull off upset of Harford CC in game two

BEL AIR, Md. – The Montgomery College softball program almost gave the homestanding Owls just its second conference loss of the year in the nightcap but fell victim to a walk-off, dropping the opener 13-1 and game two by a count of 3-2. Kyndall Hopkins shined brightly on the mound, pitching a complete game of 6.1 innings while not allowing a single earned run (three unearned), striking out six while allowing an equal number of baserunners (five hits, one walk) with a strike percentage of 67.5% (54-of-80). Holly Rogers brought home both Morgan Lynn and Alexandra Iacino with one swing, a two-RBI double that gave the Raptors a 2-0 edge before Harford came to the plate on the back half of the twin bill. Alyssa Anderson accounted for two of the squad's three base knocks in game one, smacking a two-bagger plus a single while scoring the only run of the ballgame. Lynn was the one who brought in Anderson, Rogers had the other hit, Keyri Villatoro walked, and Lesa Mouzon clubbed a double to cap off the major contributors.
