Raptors Softball Rides Four-Game Winning Streak

The Montgomery College softball team is on fire as they ride a four-game winning streak downing the Northern Virginia Nighthawks 24-2 and 20-18 and then blanking Allegany College of Maryland 15-0 and 12-0.  

On April 12, pitcher Abbey Kitchelt allowed only five hits in five innings pitched with 11 strikeouts and 2 earned runs in game one against the Nighthawks. Mary Puig was 5-for-7 on the day scoring seven runs with three RBIs while teammate Alexandra Iacino had a batting average of .500 with a double and recorded seven runs and four RBIs on the day to help the Raptors soar past the Nighthawks in the doubleheader.  

On April 14, MC hosted MDJUCO opponent Allegany College of Maryland for a doubleheader. Kitchelt started both games for the Raptors and finished both games and allowed only three hits in 10 innings pitched and recorded 16 strikeouts on the day. Aishah Abdullah had five hits and scored four runs and had four RBIs with a triple on the day. Puig added a double and a triple with one RBI and scored four times against Allegany. Sophomore Kate Kim got into the mix a hit and three RBIs on the day.
