Raptors Men’s Soccer Come up Short in OT in NJCAA Region XX DI Final Match

The 2018 men's soccer season came to an abrupt end with a 3-2 overtime loss to CCBC Essex in the NJCAA Region XX DI Championship match. Daniel Tshiani scored both of the Raptors goals. One goal came in the opening seconds of the second half, to tie the game 1-1, and the other goal came with 10 minutes left in the game, to tie the game at two apiece, to force extra time. 
 
After a series of chaotic events in front of Montgomery's goal, CCBC Essex found the back of the net, five minutes into the first overtime period to upset the #1 seed Raptors. 
 
With this defeat, Montgomery finished their 2018 campaign 21-3 overall and 11-0 in the MDJUCO. The Raptors are the 2018 Maryland Juco Champions among many other accomplishments. Ranked in the Top 20 in the NJCAA DI Men's Soccer Poll since September 19th, listed in the Top 10 in the NJCAA DI Men's Soccer Poll since October 9th, lead the Nation in goals with 122, lead the nation in assists with 117, and lead the Nation in goals scored per game with 4.88.
 
Youness Benmouna and Daniel Juresic were named to the 2018 NJCAA DI All-Region First Team while Kenny Fuentes, Michael Lake, and Christian Andrade were selected to the 2018 NJCAA DI All-Region Second Team and Andre Raymond was named as a 2018 NJCAA DI All-Region Honorable Mention.
