Raptors Men’s Soccer Boasts Nine-Game Win streak; Nationally Ranked 8th and First in MDJUCO

The nationally ranked MC Raptors men's soccer team has continued to put together a complete performance night after night as they have outscored their opponents 11-1 in October,and are red hot on a nine-game win streak. In addition to being in first in the MDJUCO Conference, Montgomery leads the nation in shots (379), goals scored (73), shots on goal (208), assists (67) and corner kicks (136) in NJCAA DI men's soccer. The Raptors are fourth in the nation in goals scored per game averaging 4.87 goals over the 15 games played while only allowing 11 goals for the entire season.

The Raptors blanked College of Southern Maryland 3-0 on October 3rd with a goal coming from Andrew Alvarado in the opening 20 minutes and two second-half goals from Bobby Riffle and Carlos Contreras. The Raptors peppered their opponents end with 39 shots and found the target 22 times.

On October 8th the Raptors came out on top against Lackawanna College 3-1 with the Raptors second-leading scorer Sahor "Pa" Keluntang tallying a first-half goal giving MC a 1-0 lead at halftime. Bobby Riffle and Kenny Fuentes had a one-goal performance to aid their Raptors to victory.

The Raptors put together another complete performance in a 5-0 win over Chesapeake College on October 9th. Three of the Raptors'goals came in the first half, two goals from Alex Villatoro and one from Andrew Alvarado while Andre Raymond and Daniel Tshiani each added a goal in the second frame.

Freshman Christian Andrade has recorded three wins, and two shutouts in the last fives games as the Raptors most recent starting goalkeeper, boasting a .926 save percentage.

The Raptors host their final home game on October 11th against Hagerstown CC at 4pm, and due to weather and field condition cancellations we had to reschedule a lot of games in a tight time frame so the team finishes up the regular season with six road games in seven days.
