Men’s Soccer Team Ends Three-game Losing Streak with a Win Against Anne Arundel CC

The Montgomery College Raptors men's soccer team has ended their three-game losing streak with a victory against Region XX opponent Anne Arundel Community College at home 2-1 on October 13th. MC freshman Francisco Mangue tallied the game's first goal in the 27th minute with Youness Benmouna serving up the assist. Anne Arundel Riverhawks mounted a change in the second half that level the match in the 69th minute but, September's MDJUCO men's soccer student-athlete of the month, Benmouna stepped up and scored an unassisted go-ahead goal in the 78th minute to put his team back on top 2-1. Montgomery's defense held off a last ditched push from Riverhawks to pick up a big win that would ultimately have an impact on the Raptors postseason seeding in the Region Tournament. The Raptors dropped a hard-fought match on October 18th to their MDJUCO and Region XX rivals, Howard CC Dragons 1-0. The Dragons were able to score in the game's first 20 minutes, and after several quality attempts, the Raptors couldn't put the ball between the pipes. Highlights: http://mcraptors.com/links/jbanoo
