Men's Soccer Ranked 5th Nationally and Tied for First in MDJUCO

The MC men's soccer team drops two spots in the national rankings and the team is tied for first in the MDJUCO conference. After the Raptors first 11 games, Montgomery is first in the nation in goals with 81 goals scored. Youness Benmouna and Ricardo Reyes-Jimenez are tied for third in the country in assists with ten each and freshman goalkeeper Yvan Moundou is fourth in the nation in save percentage with a .905 save percentage.

As of September 25, the Raptors are on a three-game winning streak outscoring their opponents 37-2. On Tuesday, September 19 MC shut out CCBC-Catonsville 9-0 with four first-half goals and five second-half goals. Nine different Raptors found the back of the net in their fourth MDJUCO victory. 

On September 21 the Raptors beat Harrisburg Area Community College on the road 25-1. Miguel Lopez, Pablo Paiz, Alex Villatoro, and Alec Jones each scored at least three goals for the Raptors during the road contest. 

The Raptors won their 5th straight MDJUCO Conference game on Friday, September 21st when they defeated College of Southern MD 3-1. MC's Alec Jones scored first, and CMS was able to even the match before halftime. At the 75th minute mark, Jones scored the go-ahead goal, and his second goal of the game to give the Raptors the lead and Carlos Machado followed up with another goal before the final whistle to seal the tenth victory of the season for the Raptors.
