Fourth Annual Tom Bichy Memorial Soccer Tournament, Sept. 2-3 at the Germantown SoccerPlex

Montgomery College continues to honor the legacy of Tom Bichy, Montgomery College's long time men's soccer coach and Hall of Famer; the athletic department is hosting the fourth annual Tom Bichy Memorial Soccer Tournament at SoccerPlex in Germantown, September second and third on field #3.

This year Head Coach Trey Livingston put together a solid field for the tourney as four out of the six teams are ranked in the NJCAA Preseason Poll Top Ten. Camden County College from New Jersey is number 2; Genesee Community College from New York is number 3, Nassau Community College from New York is number 5 and Prince George's Community College is number 6.

On Saturday, September 2nd at SoccerPlex, the tournament will start at Nassau Community College facing off against Genesee Community College at 1:00 p.m. Montgomery College will play the runners up in last year's national championship game Camden County College at 4:00 p.m.  On Sunday, September 3rd, Prince George's Community College will take on Nassau Community College at 11:00 a.m. followed by Genesee Community College verse Camden CountyCollege at 1:45 p.m.  Montgomery will play Potomac State College of WVU in the final match of the tournament at 4:00 p.m.

Tom Bichy started the soccer program at MC and was the Head Coach for 37 years. When he retired in 2005, he held the record for most wins by a NJCAA Soccer coach - with 471 victories. During his years at MC, Bochy was also a professor in the physical education department and the Rockville Campus athletic director for 24 years.
