Men's Soccer Bounces Back in a Big Way, Shuts Out Westmoreland and NOVA

The Montgomery College men's soccer team bounced back from their loss against Howard Community College with a 3-0 victory on Friday over Northern Virginia Community College. 

The match was close, going back and forth in the first half, leading to a 0-0 draw mid-way through the game. 

MC's Juan Escobar scored a magnificent header served up by Jason Davila off a set play to break open the game 25 minutes into the second half. Shortly after that Escobar was on the serving end, finding Sebastian Soto for another goal three minutes later. With four minutes to play in the game, Soto found teammate Addisu Dempsey who blasted a shot by the NOVA goalkeeper to give the Raptors a 3-0 victory. 

The MC Raptors defeated Westmoreland County Community College on the road 11-0. Nine different Raptors scored in the match. Leeroy M'buta and Devran Perkins both scored twice, while teammates Kelvin Majano, Juan Escobar, Chris Rivera, Ryan Thron, Peter Psallidas, Bryan Reyes-Aranda, and Rameen Kamazani each added a goal. The Raptors are 4-1-1 in the conference and 7-5-2 overall. Montgomery College is third in the conference standings behind Howard Community College and the top team Frederick Community College.
