Bio

Coach Elliot Hedley is starting his third season as an assistant coach with the Montgomery College Raptors men's basketball program. Coach Elliot grew up in New York and has played in many leagues and tournaments including the well-known Harlem Rucker. Elliot played collegiately at Longwood College where after playing, graduated Longwood College and Old Dominion University with Dual Bachelor’s Degrees, one in Physics and the other in Electrical Engineering. Coach Elliot has done many things for the local community which includes starting and successfully building several athletic organizations throughout the Washington DC suburban areas. Before joining the Montgomery College’s Men’s Basketball program, he most recently coached for five years at Our Lady of Good Counsel in Olney, Maryland.

Coach Elliot takes great pride in having coached players who have gone on to play at 4-year colleges on all levels and some who have played both internationally and in the NBA, most notably Josh Hart who currently plays for the Los Angeles Lakers.

His knowledge and experience in various coaching philosophies, while adding the importance of life skills teachings, allows him to understand the many different dynamics of the game and apt at judging player’s strengths and weaknesses. 

Coach Elliot's coaching career spans over 30 plus years teaching life skills for men and women. Elliot has two sons who played for Montgomery County Public Schools; Paint Branch and Blake High schools. His younger son went on to play at Susquehanna University, where he recorded over 1,000pts and received many accolades during his years in Selinsgrove, PA.
