Isaiah Jennings Named 2019-20 NJCAA DII All-American

On Monday, April 6th, the NJCAA announced their All-America selections voted on by the NJCAA Division II Men's Basketball Committee. Sophomore Isaiah Jennings was named a 2019-20 NJCAA Division II Men's Basketball All-America Second Team. The sophomore guard helped his team to a 20-9 overall record this season. He played in 28 games, scored 26 points per game, ten rebounds per game while shooting 51.6% from the field and 77.3% from the free-throw line. Jennings scored 726 points in the 2019-2020 season and averaged three assists per game. Jennings is the first MC Raptors' men's basketball student-athlete to be selected an NJCAA Division II Men's Basketball All-American.

Raptors Men’s Basketball Enters Region XX Tournament Play with 20-Win Regular Season

The Raptors men’s basketball team defeated the Northern Virginia Nighthawks back on February 20th, 96-85, to record the team’s 20th win of the regular season. Coach Byrd and the Raptors will enter the post season as the #7 seed and prepare for a rematch in the NJCAA Region XX DII Tournament Quarterfinal game against the #2 Howard CC Dragons Friday, March 7that 5:30 pm.
First Annual Montgomery County Public Schools Day is Saturday, February 8th

The Raptors’ next home doubleheader is Saturday, February 8th, against Frederick Community College. The MC Raptors men’s and women’s basketball teams are hosting the First Annual Montgomery County Public Schools Day, and the teams would like to invite all Montgomery County elementary, middle and high schools to come out the games.
MC Raptors Men’s Basketball Outlast Cross-County Rivals Prince George’s CC at Home in 90-84 Victory

In a Saturday afternoon matinee, Montgomery College Raptors men’s basketball team defeated Prince George’s CC Owls 90-84. The Raptors improved to 14-5, and move up to share the second spot in the MDJUCO at 6-1, ties with Howard CC.
Men’s Basketball Recovers on Day Two of Holiday Tournament Early

The Raptors men’s basketball team held off ASA Brooklyn Avengers in Sunday’s Holiday Tournament match up 109-98. Raptors trailed by one point to ASA at halftime 46-45, but Montgomery’s Agyei Edwards went off to score 30 second-half points and finished with a career-high 39 points on the day. Isaiah Jennings followed up with 25 points, Malik Abudu added 15 points off the bench, and Nicholas Johnson contributed 9 points off the bench in the 11-point victory.
Raptors Men's Basketball Starts Season 2-0; Jennings Recorded First Career Triple-Double in Sunday Matinee

Raptors men's basketball started their new 2019-2020 season with two victories on the road as they participated in Sullivan's Season Tip-Off Tournament in Loch Sheldrake, NY. Sophomore guard Isaiah Jennings recorded his first career triple-double in the victory against Essex County College, and classmate Nicholas Johnson had a 29-point performance against Raritan Valley CC.
MC Raptors Men's Basketball Team Tryouts Sept. 12 & 13

The Montgomery College Raptors men's basketball program will hold team tryouts Thursday, September 12 and Friday, September 13 from 8-10 p.m. on the Rockville Campus in the Physical Education Building in the Main Gym. Students must be enrolled in 12 credit hours to be eligible for the upcoming season.
Men's Basketball Team Will Hold an Interest Meeting September 5th

The Montgomery College Raptors men's basketball program will hold an interest meeting on Thursday, September 5th, at 7:00 p.m. on the Rockville Campus in the Science Center in Room 152. This meeting is for current MC students only, currently enrolled for the 2019-2020 academic year. Students must be enrolled in 12 credit hours, and meet the other eligibility requirements, in order to be qualified for the upcoming season.
