Montgomery Men’s Basketball Win Raptors Holiday Tournament

This Montgomery College men's basketball team won the Raptors Holiday Tournament downing Mercyhurst North East 97-90 Sunday night. The Raptors held onto a 4-point lead at halftime led by Vince rose who had 12 of his 15 points in the first half. 

Paul Garcia finished with 21 points while Charlie Ali and Marcus Driscoll each finished with 16 points. Freddie Harris recorded a double-double with 12 points and 16 rebounds in the 7-point overtime victory.

In the first game of the tournament, the Raptors hold on to down Thaddeus Stevens College 98-93. MC went into the half with a two-point lead 44-42 and stretched their lead to 11-points midway through the second half as they held Thaddeus Stevens scoreless for three minutes. 

The blitz was led by a fast break lay-up from Garcia, a fast break lay-up and a made free throw from Rose, followed by a three-pointer from Ali and capped off by another Garcia fast break lay-up.

Garcia tied a career-high with a 29-point performance as Rose dropped 25 points and 5 assists! Ali also added 20 points shooting 88% from the field and Harris netted 11 points with 17 rebounds.
