Men’s Basketball Makes History with First-Ever 20-Win Regular Season in the Program’s History with Win Over Chesapeake College in Season Finale

The Montgomery College men's basketball team concluded their final game of the 2017-18 regular season with 73-68 victory at Chesapeake College. This win marks the men's basketball program's 20th win in the regular season, the program's first-ever achievement in the history of Montgomery College, and the third consecutive year Head Coach Keith Byrd and his staff have recorded at least 20 wins in a season.

On February 7th, Collin Turner scored a team-high 28 points, with seven rebounds, in the Raptors five-point victory against Chesapeake while Elisha Arnold made 6 out of 13 shots from the field to record 14 points for MC. Freddie Harris tallied 12 points, 13 rebounds, and three assists as teammate Chris Johnson recorded 7 points, two assist, two steals, and two rebounds in the five-point victory.

The Maryland Junior College Athletic Conference (Maryland JUCO) announced seeding and game times for its 2018 Men's Conference Basketball Tournaments, hosted by Prince George's Community College, February 15-18. The MC Raptors men's basketball team will play Baltimore City CC in the quarterfinal game on Friday, February 16th at 4:00 p.m. and tickets are $8.00. The men's tournament games will be played on February 16 and 17, with the championship game on Sunday, February 18 at 3:00 pm.

February 23-25, the Raptors will compete in the NJCAA DIII Region XX Tournament hosted by Westmoreland College (PA).
