Men's Basketball Finds the Remedy After Tough Loss, Picks Up Two Wins

The Montgomery College men's basketball team won their previous two contest defeating CCBC Catonsville by 8 points 90-82 and Westmoreland County Community College on Martin Luther King Day, 104-62, after suffering a difficult loss on the road to College of Southern Maryland January 9. 

On Friday, January 12th, the Raptors were trailing by two points on the road going into halftime but turned the tables as MC outscored CCBC Catonsville in the second half 60-50 to pick up their fifth road win of the season. Collin Turner finished with 34 points, Eli Arnold recorded 20 points and Afanna Offor added 19 in the eight-point victory. 

On January 15th the Raptors defeated the Westmoreland CCC Wolfpack 104-62 as Offor went off from behind the arch to shoot 54% from three and scored a game-high 30 points. Turner recorded 18 points, 8 steals, four rebounds and 3 assists while teammate Ramel Davidson shot 70% from the field for 16 points and pulled down eight rebounds. Freddie Harris recorded his seventh career double-double with 14 points and 13 rebounds in the Raptors 14th win of the season. 

The Raptors are currently sitting in the #4 spot in the MDJUCO with a record of 5-2 and 14-4 overall. Montgomery's next game is at Rockville on Saturday, January 20th at 3:30 p.m. against Butler County Community College (PA).
