Men's Basketball Weather the Silver Storm in Miami to Finish 2016 with 10-4 Record!

The Montgomery College men's basketball team bounced back in dominating form against DI ASA College-Miami after placing second in the MC Holiday Tournament.  

Over the holiday break the MC men's basketball traveled to Florida to play against the young DI program ASA Miami Silver Storm. The Raptors victory was led by forward Patrick Smith who finished with 16 points and 14 rebounds. Turner came off the bench and shot 54% from the field and made eight of 11 from the charity stripe to contribute 22 points in the 72-63 Raptors victory.  

Earlier in December, the Raptors defeated Erie Community College in the opening game of the holiday tournament posting a 19-point victory. Patrick Smith finished with a game high 30 points and 12 rebounds while Collin Turner scored 24 points in the 108-89 victory.

In the championship game against undefeated Essex County College, the Raptors started the game with the pedal to the ground to take a four-point lead going into the halftime break. At the start of the second half MC continued to push, but couldn't get out of first gear. Nationally ranked Essex County College out scored the host team in the second half 44-21 to win the MC Holiday Tournament for the men's field.

The Raptors men's basketball team finished 2016 with an overall record of 10-4 and 3-2 in the MDJUCO.
