Baseball Splits with Stevenson University JV, Wins Series over Allegany College of MD

The Montgomery baseball team won their second game against Allegany College of MD to win the home-away series. The Raptors won game one, 11-7, at Allegany College of MD back on April 4th and five days later Montgomery hosted Allegany College in a 10-5 win on Tuesday afternoon.

Zeke Gongola pitched 6 innings allowed only six hits and three runs with 11 strikeouts in the team's second meeting, picking up his fourth win of the season. Gongola has the fourth lowest earned run average in the conference with 2.01. Ryo Fabre went 3-for-3 with five RBIs while Bennie Spady and A.J. Javitt each recorded two hits and two RBIs in the second game against Allegany College of MD.

On Sunday afternoon, Stevenson University JV got out to an early 4-1 lead over the Raptors in game one, but Montgomery battled back to win 5-4 in eight innings. In Game two, the Raptors scored a handful of runs on the second inning and never gave the lead back to win game two 9-5.

Teammate AJ Javitt leads the conference with lowest earn run average in the conference with a 1.19 per game average and is also tied for first with most wins in the MD JuCo with six wins. Javitt is second strikeouts in the conference, striking out 57 batters.

The Raptors are 16-12 on the season and 10-6 in conference play. The Raptors will close out the home/away series with Frederick CC on Thursday with a nine-inning game at 3pm at home. The Raptors final home game double header will be April 30th against CCBC Dundalk at 2pm and 5pm.
