ROCKVILLE, MD. – Tina Tinelli headed in a corner in the 86th minute to earn a 1-1 tie for the Anne Arundel Community College women's soccer team at host Montgomery College Tuesday afternoon.
Montgomery outshot AACC, 12-7, in the game. Riverhawks' keeper McKenzie Lanham had three saves and a clean sheet through the first half. Montgomery's Natalie Zambrano scored in the 79th minute on a penalty kick.
AACC totaled eight corner kicks in the game, converting off a high soaring ball from Megan Miller in the 86th minute to earn the tie. The Riverhawks had three more corner attempts in the waning minutes, but were unable to find the back of the net.
AACC (6-4-3) is back in action on Saturday, October 21 at noon when the Riverhawks host Howard in the first round of the NJCAA Region 20 Division II Tournament at Siegert Field.
